eDiscovery Education Center offers 4 distinct certifications to meet your individual needs and provide you the best level of instruction to advance your career
Certified eDiscovery Master
Earn this certification through the completion of our live, interactive 10-week courses, Master eDiscovery Class .
This is our highest certification that will include some combination of live instruction from Michael Arkfeld and partners, on-demand video content, independent course readings, independent course assignments, quizzes, and final exams. Upon completion, students earn a certificate, digital badge and are eligible to apply for CLE credit, including up to 3 hours of ethics credits.
This certification is designed for students who wish to elevate their knowledge and practice.
Previous courses have included: 15 hours live instruction, 8 hours on demand video, 8 hours reading material, and 4 hours independent classwork. This is subject to change.

Certified Eight Phases of Pretrial eDiscovery Specialist
The eDiscovery Education Center’s newest eDiscovery Certification . This certification denotes special targeted training on the Eight Phases of Pretrial eDiscovery through a litigator's perspective and is earned through the completion of the Pretrial eDiscovery – Eight Phases (On-demand) course.
This certification was designed for those legal professionals that are interested in a phased case approach in applying eDiscovery knowledge legal and technological concepts in their cases.
These phases are based on the eDiscovery Pretrial Guidelines Model (“EPGM”). The phases include:
Phase 1— Access eDiscovery Resources and Coordinate with LS Service Provider
Phase 2— Issue Legal Hold: Triggering Date, Claims and Defenses, and Legal Hold Notice
Phase 3— Monitor Client’s Disclosure of ESI and Paper
Phase 4— Identify and Search for Responsive ESI and Paper
Phase 5— Preserve and Collect ESI and Paper
Phase 6— Process, Filter, and Legal Limitations
Phase 7— Review, Analyze, and Produce ESI and Paper
Phase 8— Admit ESI and Paper
